SumCo Eco Contracting- Project Manager

SumCo Eco-Contracting—a self-performing civil / site / landscape construction company focusing on ecological and environmental improvement projects—is seeking qualified individuals to join us as a PROJECT MANAGER.

These individuals will assist Project Team Leads in bidding, managing and executing a diverse range of ecological and environmental construction projects. Project focus areas include dam removal and river restoration; riverbank stabilization; coastal structures and stabilization; wetland creation and restoration; dune nourishment; pre-cast and cast-in-place structures; dam rehabilitation; site development; water quality improvements landscaping and bioengineering; etc.

Current projects include:

• Dam Removal & Rock Ramp Fishway, Bradford, RI

• Brook Relocation & Retail Stormwater /Parking / Site Development, Shrewsbury, MA

• Muddy River Flood Mitigation & Ecosystem Restoration, Boston, MA

• Rain Gardens & Stormwater BMP’s, Middletown, RI

• Wetland Boardwalk, Richmond, RI

• Dam Rehabilitation, Goshen, MA

• Dam Rehabilitation, Gloucester, MA

ESTIMATING RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Obtain bidding documents and establish timeline for responses; analyze bid documents for scope, schedule, conflicts/clarification needs, risk and construction strategy

• Attend pre-bid meetings throughout our New England service area

• Perform detailed take-offs and establish bid sheet / file

• Request, receive and manage pricing for materials, subcontractors and equipment/labor needs

• Prepare and submit project bids and proposals

• Follow up on bid results (obtain results, submit to bonding agent, review competing bids, etc.)

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Represent SumCo with confidence and competence

• Develop thorough understanding of plans, specifications and all project requirements

• Prepare project schedules and submittals

• Material and subcontractor sourcing and buyout

• Identify, prepare and negotiate Change Orders

• Manage job cost tracking and invoicing

• Work with Management and Project Supervisors to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and all permits associated with the work

• Manage Project Foremen in field coordination

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in heavy, highway, & site/civil construction projects

• Water control experience, including river bypass/diversion; pond and sediment dewatering; mechanical dredging; sediment & turbidity controls.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong work ethic, dedication and ability to work well with others

• Project and personnel management experience in senior leadership roles
