Senior Software Engineer – LabVIEW

 Location: Boston, MA 

We are searching for a smart, enthusiastic and innovative software engineer with a passion for coding in  LabVIEW. You will be a key technical leader within the development team, creating new features and  solutions while maintaining a large code base for our Product, a flagship electroacoustic test software.  This position requires commitments to following-through, testing, and implementation in order for the  team to deliver critical software releases. You will be enthusiastic to learn from and share knowledge  with other team members, and be willing to go and find solutions to programming challenges that are  new to the team. A perfectionist streak, pride in your work and attention to detail (as well as a willingness  to be open about challenges and discuss them with others) are key characteristics that are required for  this role. 

Our Product’s annual releases with new functionality ensure that there is always something exciting to  work on, and make it critical that you maintain product quality while working to strict deadlines. The role  involves coding algorithms, interfaces and other functionality in LabVIEW, as well as ensuring that the  software correctly interfaces with a wide range of other devices. You will be involved with all aspects of  the product lifecycle from coding to de-bugging, validation and release.

It is a commercial product with an annual release  cycle to keep pace with changing test requirements and to add functionality. The product has a rich 20  year history, and is the accepted standard in many blue-chip and Fortune 500 companies worldwide.  

Skills and Education  Required:  

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science

● 5+ years LabVIEW programming experience, ideally for test & measurement applications

● Proven track record of delivering on-time, quality LabVIEW-based applications

● Familiarity with Actor Framework, and Object Oriented Design principles

● Ability to mentor and coach other developers

● Experience with, and an appreciation for, good user interface design

● Methodical approach to coding, testing and documentation

● Proven self-starter, who can manage and prioritize workload to meet product development deadlines


● Experience or interest in audio or acoustic measurements

● National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA) or Developer (CLD)

● Competency in MATLAB, C/C++/C#, Excel and database programs

● Experience in Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA)

● Familiarity with software version control, Perforce a plus
